Kate-and-NickAs a wedding planner I knew the key was to prepare and trust my vendors so that my husband and I, along with our family and friends, could focus on being present in every moment. Placing our trust with Libby, Matt, and the rest of the Madison Beach Hotel staff was the single most important decision we made for our wedding.

The ever-cool, calm, and collected Libby helped us navigate every element to the day. From menu selections (and many special requests, thank you Libby!), day of logistics, and my insistence on having a Sperry sailcloth tent for the ceremony, Libby was a Godsend. Even as I stood at the top of the stairs just before the ceremony, arm in arm with my Dad, she noticed he was not wearing a boutonniere. Within mere seconds, she found said boutonniere and had it pinned with perfection. Love is in the details. From start to finish, you can tell Libby loves what she does.

The Madison Beach Hotel was the perfect venue for my husband and I in so many ways. I grew up in Madison and Nick grew up only a few towns over in seaside Old Saybrook. We knew we wanted to have our wedding on the water, with incredible food, in a place where our guests could stay an extra day or two and enjoy what the location had to offer. The Madison Beach Hotel not only provides a beautiful waterfront view from the ballroom but also features a sandy beach, stone wharf, and legendary West Wharf Rocks.

My bridesmaids and I welcomed the day with yoga on the beach, followed by manicures by the incredible Dana Hatch at the Hotel’s Sounds of the Sea Spa. Knowing Libby, Matt, and their team had the rest of the details under control, I was able to completely relax and focus on our family and friends. The wonderful staff ensured everyone had a cocktail and bites to eat immediately after the ceremony and our personal attendants during dinner made sure our meals didn’t get cold when Nick and I took sunset photos on the Wharf Rocks.

When it came to the end of the wedding, we made our grand exit and took a drive along Middle Beach Road, stopping at a bench that over looked the water. When we returned to the hotel, we met some of our rowdier guests at the Wharf Bar before finally calling it a night. The perfect ending to the perfect day was walking into our incredible room to enjoy the fireplace, view, and plate of desserts and champagne. Accompanying the late night snack was the sweetest congratulatory note from the hotel staff.

The Madison Beach Hotel lived up to its stellar reputation as a premier wedding venue and hotel and completely exceeded my expectations. Even almost a year later, the day remains etched in our memories as the best day of our lives and plan on returning to the Madison Beach Hotel for many anniversaries to come!
